Florence and the Machine: new album, new tour

Bursting onto the music scene in 2007, Florence and the Machine's music offerings immediately drew comparisons to legendary acts such as Kate Bush and Siouxsie Sioux. Once described by Rolling Stone Magazine as "classic soul and midnight-on-the-moors English art rock", the band swept to prominence with their debut single "Kiss with a Fist", and then followed up by elevating indie anthem "Dog Days A Over"; which went on to appear in everything from Gossip Girl to Glee.

Their genre-bending blend of rock, soul, folk and baroque pop helped propel their debut album Lungs to number one in the UK charts and the record is now certified five times platinum by the British Phonographic Industry. Welsh covered the iconic 1986 dance hit "You've Got the Love" to a barrage of critical acclaim in 2008, proving her ability to lend her magical voice to a myriad of styles. An instant fan favourite and set list staple, the track sent festival crowds into frenzy across the country.

Showing no signs of a sophomore slump; Florence and the Machine's second studio album - Ceremonials - gifted the world another gothic sonic treat, folding in trippy tribal drums and heavenly choir arrangements. "Spectrum (Say My Name)" became the band's first number one single in the UK, followed by the successful digital download "Lover to Lover". The band's third album, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, followed in 2015: topping the charts in eight countries (including the UK) and leading to a headline slot at Glastonbury that summer.
