Afrojack Takes Over The EDM Scene
Afrojack's gritty, hard-hitting mixes are currently among the most popular in all of EDM. The DJ and music producer works with several of pop's hottest stars, including Chris Brown and David Guetta.
Schedule
Afrojack is an international sensation, and as such, the DJ is constantly on the move. Later this year, his concert events include appearances at the Net Festival in Brazil, Rogers Centre in Toronto, MGM Grand in Las Vegas and Du Arena in Abu Dhabi.
Trivia
Afrojack is a sports car enthusiast. He owns several high-end models, including a Lamborghini Aventador, a Rolls-Royce Ghost and a Ferrari 458 Italia. In addition to these expensive vehicle investments, Afrojack famously purchased an Audi Q7 for his mother. The DJ frequently shows off his favourite vehicles on his Facebook page, along with pictures of his similarly luxurious sneakers. Besides cars, Afrojack also collects shoes, claiming to own the only size 15 pair of Nike Air Yeezys ever made.
Singer
Afrojack is a talented music producer and DJ based out of The Netherlands. One of the world's most in-demand DJs, Afrojack has revolutionised the EDM music scene. The DJ spends a significant portion of his time mixing music by such popular artists as Chris Brown, Madonna, Pitbull and Beyonce, but he also places an emphasis on creating original tracks. In addition to releasing several of the EDM scene's biggest hits, Afrojack has made it possible for others to do the same through the creation of Wall Recordings, his very own record label. This influential label focuses on the club scene, highlighting young artists with styles that reflect Afrojack's unique approach to EDM music.
Breakthrough
A music enthusiast from a young age, Afrojack began experimenting with mixing software just a few years after he was first enrolled in piano lessons. After visiting a prominent nightclub as a teenager, the young artist decided to focus on his music career instead of attending college. He spent a summer working as a DJ in Greece for very low pay before scoring a deal with a Dutch label. His first single In Your Face was an immediate hit in The Netherlands, allowing for the sale of Afrojack tickets at a variety of clubs. From there, Afrojack quickly expanded his reach to France and Germany. The artist's first international success arrived with the release of platinum hit Take Over Control. Soon after, he scored an exclusive deal with the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas. This unprecedented gig cemented Afrojack's status as an international EDM sensation.
Hit Albums
Before he became an international sensation, Afrojack released Lost & Found. This debut collection included a variety of intriguing original mixes, such as Daft Sound, Funk With Me and The King. Later, Afrojack teamed up with R3hab to produce Prutataaa: The Remixes, which included hits from Dada Life and Angger Dimas. Afrojack's debut studio album Forget The World boasted a variety of hit singles produced by the DJ. These tracks featured the likes of Chris Brown, Snoop Dogg and Spree Wilson. Reviewers referred to the album as accessible to the entire EDM community, a pronouncement quickly backed up by Forget The World's number two spot on the Billboard Electronic and Dance Albums chart.Show Experience
Fans claim that Afrojack's shows are life-changing. The DJ effortlessly infuses each performance with an addicting sense of energy, which immediately convinces attendees to get on their feet and dance. In addition to his bass-heavy hits, Afrojack pumps up the crowd with the assistance of intriguing lighting displays. Although fans enjoy listening to Afrojack's mixes at home, most agree that the DJ is at his best in front of a crowd.
