Bad Religion Tickets
"Bad Religion Tickets
A punk band that serves up songs that contain important social messages, Bad Religion came together in 1979. Though the band didn't become truly successful for many years after their inception and the lineup changed fairly frequently, Bad Religion is still known as one of the most influential and coolest cult punk bands of all time.
Schedule
Bad Religion brings their unique brand of political commentary-laced music to the entire world, touring frequently in countries as far flung as Germany and the UK, as well as back in their hometown of Los Angeles. You can catch the band playing in festivals such as the legendary "It's Not Dead" skateboarding festival in California and the Coachella Festival in Indio, as well as smaller venues like the traditional Bowery Ballroom in New York and House of Blues locations across the United States.
Trivia
Though Bad Religion is known for serious songs tackling subject matter like social and political issues, religion, and faith, the band thinks of themselves as more positive and upbeat than other punk bands, and even released a full-length album of Christmas songs in 2013. The album, titled "Christmas Songs," features the band's own take on Christmas classics like "O Come All Ye Faithful," "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing," and "White Christmas." The band also appeared on the soundtrack of the popular Kevin Smith film, "Clerks."
Band
Bad Religion's lineup has ebbed and flowed throughout the band's history, but the one constant has been surly-voiced singer Greg Graffin. The original lineup included Jay Bentley on bass, Jay Ziskrout on drums, and Brett Gurewitz on guitar, who met as high school students in Los Angeles, California in the late 70s. They opened for a young Social Distortion, and played various clubs around their LA home to gain a fan base. The original four members have come and gone over the band's history, and at some point have all played together again, which thrills longtime fans to no end.
Breakthrough
Though Bad Religion began pumping out punk in 1981, they didn't receive much radio airplay or commercial success until they launched their eighth album, Stranger Than Fiction. The single, "Infected," propelled the album to the top of the charts, introducing the band to listeners who hadn't had much experience with the punk movement. The band's catchy lyrics and Greg Graffin's distinct voice won the band a brand new fan base and a level of success they hadn't yet seen. On the waves of this success, the band sold more albums than ever, and continues to be one of the best selling punk bands of all time, with over five million albums sold.
Hit Albums
Bad Religion had an early following, but their fourth album, No Control, gained the band notice. Their followup release, Against the Grain, gave the band their first album that broke sales of 100,000 copies, resulting in one of the band's most popular singles, "21st Century (Digital Boy)," a song that fans still love to hear when the band plays live. These early albums paved the way for the band's true commercial success with the release of Stranger Than Fiction in 1994, which made Bad Religion a household name.
Show Experience
Time hasn't lessened Bad Religion's endurance, and Greg Graffin still tours with a number of versions of the iconic punk lineup. The band whips fans into a frenzy playing hits like "Infected" along with new music from more recent albums. Those with Bad Religion tickets will be in for a night of upbeat music, costumes, and dancing.
