Born in Pottstown, Pennsylvania in 1946, the young Daryl was blessed with musical parents, both with considerable singing talents. Having studied music he went on to form the Temptones with classmates, and enjoyed working with some of the US soul greats in the 1960s. He met John Oates in 1967, who he formed a musical partnership with that would go on to be known as one of the greatest music duos ever. In fact, they have sold more albums than any other music duo in history, enjoying a string of Number Ones in the 1970s and 1980s. Little surprise that in 2014 they are being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
