This singer-songwriter, famous for his trademark head-wobble as well as his amazing self-penned song catalogue, was a fixture on the UK underground folk circuit before he got his big break. His first two albums, 1993s A Century Ends and 1994s Flesh were cult favourites, but it was his fourth album, White Ladder, re-released in 2000, that made him a star. Featuring the hit single 'Babylon' it hit the Number One spot in the UK singles chart. His next album A New Day at Midnight also hit the top spot, then after a break he returned in 2005 with Life in Slow Motion: another Number One album.
