One of the biggest British bands of the post-Britpop era, Huddersfield heroes Embrace are known for heart-swelling anthems such as "All You Good, Good People" and "Come Back to What You Know". After disappearing from the scene in the early 2000s, their career was given a second wind by the patronage of Coldplay's Chris Martin - and they went on to score some of their biggest hits with the likes of "Gravity" and "Ashes".

Embrace: chart-topping Britpop legends

Brothers Danny and Richard McNamara formed legendary band Embrace in their back garden in 1990, polishing their sound when Britpop was the order of the day. After performing small sets at regional festivals for years, the band finally hit the big time in 1998 when their debut album The Good Will Out soared to number one in the UK Albums Chart. The critically acclaimed record went gold on the first day of its release and ranks at number 993 in All-Time Top 1000 Albums (compiled by Colin Larkin, creator and editor of the Encyclopedia of Popular Music. Embrace's further top 10 releases, including Drawn from Memory and If You've Never Been cemented the band as a major post-Britpop player, garnering a huge and devoted UK fan base. After a short hiatus, their double platinum comeback album Out of Nothing returned the band to the UK top spot, propelled by the hit single "Gravity".

The legendary post-Britpop group were then off the radar for nearly a decade, before treating fans to an exciting comeback in 2014 with the release of self-titled album Embrace - which hit number five in the UK charts.
