Hot Since 82's most recent tour includes several performances in the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. The DJ will appear at Life in Las Vegas before heading to Edmonton's Union Hall for another performance.

Trivia

Hot Since 82 spent his early years listening to the electronic and house music that would ultimately inspire his most influential work. His father was a huge fan of acid house music, so he installed advanced stereo systems in the Volkswagen Beetles he refurbished; these memories fostered a love of bass-heavy music in his kids.

Although he is very popular among house enthusiasts, Hot Since 82 has largely rejected the social life of the house music scene. Rather, he prefers to spend time with his old friends from grade school. His friends accompany him at shows all around the world, including his favourite raves in Ibiza.

Artist

David Padley, better known by his music alias Hot Since 82, is a house music producer and DJ. He is based in Leeds, but he sells Hot Since 82 tickets for nightclubs and festivals throughout Europe and the United States. Much of his work features remixes from up-and-coming artists, although he has also worked with such established acts as DJ Noir and Green Velvet. His sound is relaxed and yet surprisingly bass-heavy, with occasional infusions of alternative and soul style.

Breakthrough

David Padley began his DJ career at a young age, frequenting clubs when he was just 14 years old. After several years of being worn down by the clubbing lifestyle, he decided to take a break. The temporarily disillusioned Padley probably would not have become Hot Since 82 if he had failed to attend a fateful party in Ibiza. When the music at this gathering cut out, Padley hooked up his phone to the speakers. He accidentally played one of his own tracks, which was well received by the crowd. This positive reception convinced Padley to contact DJ Noir, who, impressed by the emerging artist's talent, chose to release the track Let It Ride on his label. This single was an immediate success, paving the way for follow up Hot Since 82 hits.

Hit Albums

Hot Since 82 has released several EPs and one full-length album. His first EP, Forty Shorty, was released through Get Physical Music. Followup collections included two volumes of Hot Jams, Hurt You and Planes And Trains Remixes. In addition to his several EPs collections, Hot Since 82 released Little Black Book, a full-length record featuring several of his hottest hits. This album was distinguished by Hot Since 82's heavy bass and warm melodies.

Show Experience

Many of Hot Since 82's performances take place at nightclubs, although the DJ also appears frequently at festivals such as Coachella and Creamfields. The artist is very focused on his music, but he will occasionally interact with listeners, particularly when he's in a club setting. Lighting effects play a huge role at Hot Since 82's shows, with warm ambient lights reflecting the tone of his house mixes. Although he has received great recognition for his studio releases, Hot Since 82 never prepares tracks prior to club appearances. All nightclub mixes take place on site, which adds to the spontaneity of his fun performances.
