From business partners to producing force

Hybrid Minds was founded by producers Matt Lowe and Josh White, who initially ran a record label for a number of years together before deciding to collaborate on their own material. The label was primarily focused on dancefloor drum and bass, although the duo drifted towards a more melodic style. After only a couple of efforts, they exploded among the liquid scene (a sub-genre of drum and bass incorporating ambient sounds, soulful melodies, layers and harmonies over the classic beats and basslines of the genre) by dropping ‘The Place’, one of the hottest tracks of 2011. After this, they never looked back, earning releases on some of the most renowned labels in the scene, such as their Audioporn(Dirtyphonics) EP ‘Lost’, which racked up over half a million listens on UKF. They followed this up with their ‘Heartfelt’ EP through Mainframe (Camo and Krooked) as well as a string of singles including a remix of ‘Blinding’ by Jakwob.
