Joe Nichols Tickets
The old-school country music of Joe Nichols
Joe Nichols brings an interesting flavour to his country music, thanks to his part-Cherokee heritage. In a career that began in 1996 he has focused mainly on old-school country, a love of which he gained from listening to Merle Haggard and Don Williams albums. He brings the poignancy of the original country song to life in a way that makes his shows both joyous and nostalgic. Find out for yourself when you buy or sell Joe Nichols tickets on StubHub.
Staying true to his musical roots
Joe Nichols was born to play music – country music in particular. While his friends back in the day were into '80s pop and rock, Nichols was drawn to the salt-of-the-earth authenticity of country. He signed his first record deal when he was just 19, and has since earned a central place among the ranks of singer-songwriters who still carry the flag for more traditional country music. Not that his music is dated by any stretch of the imagination. He has a sound as fresh as any neo-country artist, and has recorded with several young country stars, including a duet with Lucy Hale on her country-pop release, "Red Dress". His work has included covers of older country tunes and ones from his peers, like his 2007 recording of "Let's Get Drunk and Fight" by Aaron Lines, one of Canada's most prominent country artists. His own song titles have often tended to be equally irreverent, as in "Diamonds Make Babies" and "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off". You can hear these and his more sentimental side with Joe Nichols tickets.
Tour after tour with other country greats
The album that really put Joe Nichols on the map, and which continued to sell like hotcakes to later fans discovering his catalogue, was "Man With A Memory". It spawned a No. 3 single on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and won him the award for "Top New Male Vocalist" bestowed by the Academy of Country Music. This was followed later in the year by no fewer than three Grammy nominations, with the album ending up going Platinum. As if that wasn't enough, the album's second single, "Brokenheartsville", went on to claim him the top spot on the country charts for the first time. Nichols then spent a long time touring with Alan Jackson, as well as hitting the road for two years with Toby Keith. This hardworking traditional country approach resulted in his live shows being honed to a fine edge – as if each moment has been precisely calculated – yet feeling utterly spontaneous. As with all true professionals, you can't tell if it's one or the other. You'll see exactly what we mean if you grab yourself some Joe Nichols tickets on StubHub and head off to one of his shows. Whether he's playing a solo concert or sharing the stage with another country star, you're in for a treat.
