Life and early career in Louisiana

Born in Lafayette, Louisiana in 1991, Daigle became known as "The Music Box" in the family home due to her constant singing. She was heavily influenced by the blues, Cajun and zydeco music that surrounded her in her home state, but did not consider music as a serious endeavour until much later on. Taking a year off school, Daigle headed to Brazil to do mission work before studying Child and Family Studies at Louisiana State University. There she led the school choir, and a career in music began to present itself as a real possibility. In 2010 family encouraged her to try out for "American Idol", although she was cut right before the final 24 contestants were selected. In 2012 Daigle gave it another shot and made it to the Hollywood round, but again was cut at the final hurdle. Daigle’s recording debut came when she sang on the North Point InsideOut Band album, "Hear", for which she sang two live tracks at Alpharetta’s North Point Community Church in Georgia. Daigle earned the attention of contemporary Christian music label Centricity Music after singing background vocals on an EP for one of its artists, "The Assemblies". Eventually she was signed to the label in 2013 and began to build a significant solo fan base throughout the Christian community. Solo releases and Grammy success

Daigle released her debut solo album, "How Can It Be", in 2015, hitting the Number One spot on the Christian music charts as well as reaching the Top 20 on the US charts for all genres. The album earned a Grammy nomination for "Best Contemporary Christian Music Album" in 2016 and a further nomination in 2017 for "Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song" for the single "Trust in You". Among a bunch of other awards, Daigle was selected to sing on the Blade Runner 2049 soundtrack, performing the song "Almost Human". A follow-up effort came in 2018 with the release of "Look Up Child". Lead single "You Say" spent 53 weeks at the top of the Hot Christian Songs charts, beating Carrie Underwood’s record for the longest reign in the chart’s history. "You Say" also won the Grammy Award for "Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song" alongside "Look Up Child", which took home the Grammy for "Best Contemporary Christian Music Album".
