Lowlands Music Festival Tickets
Holland's grand old Lowlands Music Festival still rocks hard
You can pretty much call yourself an iconic music festival if your first event was headlined by Pink Floyd in 1968 and you're still going strong! That's the Lowlands Music Festival – one that has always been one of the most popular in all of Europe, always attracting the biggest stars in rock, pop, urban and alternative music. Buy or sell Lowlands Music Festival tickets on StubHub as soon as you can – it will be well worth your while.
A rock festival that goes back to 1968
The Lowlands Music Festival didn't have the most illustrious of beginnings, despite a stellar line-up that was planned for what was then called "A Flight to Lowlands Paradise". Jethro Tull, Jimi Hendrix and Jeff Beck were all on the bill just before New Year's Day in 1968, until Hendrix was unable to play and everyone else pulled out. Except for an interesting British band that ended up playing to a sold-out festival crowd. The show was so successful that it became a near riot. And that was the end of that, until 1993, when the festival was renamed, somewhat unimaginatively to "A Campingflight to Lowlands Paradise". As the years went on it came to be known simply as the Lowlands Music Festival, happening annually near the small town of Biddinghuizen. Along with the revival of the festival came its original ambitions to host the world biggest rock stars live in concert, and as the event grew in stature it began putting on international hip-hop and alternative bands and solo artists. It also has a strong arts and culture aspect to it, with indoor and outdoor venues that hold film screenings, cabaret shows, stand-up comedy, street theatre and ballet. One thing's for sure then: when you get Lowlands Music Festival tickets you'll be absolutely spoilt for choice when it comes to entertainment.
Catch the biggest names in modern music
Lowlands Music Festival has continued to attract some of the biggest names in over its three days of live performances. It has outdoor and indoor stages, with the largest indoor site covering the area of a football pitch. It has always offered great settings in which to watch some of the world's favourite entertainers, from the likes of Mumford & Sons and Elbow, to modern alternative kings like Editors to hip-hop's infamous and ever-relevant Cypress Hill. Its smaller stages also offer excellent chances to watch lesser-known artists who've been cult favourites for many years, like Heather Nova. There are usually over 200 bands and solo performers that you can catch during the festival, nicely spread across 10 or more stages and marquees. The event can get pretty big, as you can well imagine with the calibre of artists that perform there, and numbers can nudge the 60,000 mark – so make sure you get your Lowlands Music Festival tickets early! They're available, as always, on StubHub.
