PVRIS: Massachusetts trio bringing back metalcore
Lyndsey Gunnulfsen, Alex Babinski, Brian Macdonald and Brad Griffin came together to form their band in Lowell, Massachusetts in 2012, initially going by Operation Guillotine. Their debut self-titled EP would present a post-hardcore sound with incorporated elements of pop and electro and led to a slot in the 2013 Vans Warped Tour. After a supporting tour with A Skylit Drive, drummer Griffin left the band, prompting the remaining members to return to the studio as a trio. A first single with label Rose and Velocity, "St. Patrick" was released in June 2014, with critics praising singer Gunnulfsen's serene vocals and the song's sophisticated guitar line.
Extensive touring followed, with support slots for the likes of Mayday Parade and Emarosa, before the announcement that the band's debut album White Noise would be released in November 2014. It proved a hit with critics, who praised the band's confidence and identity as PVRIS bravely blended electro pop-rock with a darker melodic undertone. 2015 saw even more success for the group, with increasing recognition at award ceremonies across the globe – including a victory in the Breakthrough Band category at the Alternative Press Music Awards. They were also chosen to support both Bring Me the Horizon and Fall Out Boy on their autumn/winter tours, exposing them to a whole new group of fans.
In 2016, they headed to the UK for their first headline tour, playing hits like "Holy" and "Fire", before releasing second album All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell in August 2017; a UK number four chart hit. Don't miss out – grab your PVRIS tickets at StubHub UK today.
