Steve Aoki Biography - Celebrating the Full Release of Neon Future
Born in Miami, Florida, this innovative artist began producing his own records and playing underground nights out of his own apartment while at university in California. In 1996, he founded his own label Dim Mak Records, which has since gone on to release music by artists including Bloc Party, Klaxons, The Kills and Mystery Jets. His own early music career was spent alongside Blake Miller under the moniker Weird Science, producing remixes and developing other acts. As well as collaborations with the likes of Kanye West, All American Rejects and The Killers, his most famous work came on Drake's song 'Forever', which hit the top of the Hype Machine chart on its release in 2009.
The producer has also become renowned for his extensive touring too, hitting up venues across the world every year and performing acrobatic crowd surfing stunts and extravagantly spraying champagne bottles. Before Wonderland arrived, he previewed single 'I'm in the House' with Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am, which peaked in the top five of both the UK Dance and Indie charts, and resulted in Aoki receiving a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronica Album. He then had smash hit success with Linkin Park and 'A Light That Never Comes', followed by 'Back to Earth' with Fall Out Boy, which each helped him massively grow his profile. Another full length Neon Future 1 arrived in 2014, and its sequel - unsurprisingly titled Neon Future 2 - arrived a few months later. He celebrates both at his upcoming live dates, so don't be the one that missed out on the party of the century - get Steve Aoki tickets now on StubHub UK.
