Sub Focus Biography - Heading Up From The Underground

Nick Douwma, better known as his DJ stage name, got his break in 2005, two years after he put his first record out, with 'X-Ray/Scarecrow', a single release that was a dance smash and stormed straight to the top of the UK Dance Chart. Three years later he did it again, hitting the top spot with the stunning 'Timewarp'/'Join The Dots'. He went overground in 2009, cracking the UK Top 40 with 'Rock It'/'Follow The Light', which led to him remixing the likes of The Prodigy, Deadmau5, Rusko, Dr Octagon, Empire Of The Sun and Dizzee Rascal. After received widespread acclaim for his eponymous debut album, he cracked the charts with 2013 follow-up Torus, sending him on the path to true superstar DJ status.
