Trivia
Before forming The Fall of Troy, Thomas Erak was a member of The Tribune, a group of high schoolers who recorded an EP and disbanded in 2002. After that he teamed up with Mike Munro to start a new band called The 30 Years War. They were joined by Andrew Forsman and Tim Ward. The 30 Years War released two EPs, Martyrs Among the Casualties and Live at the Paradox. Munro left the band and the remaining members continued to work together under the new name The Fall of Troy.
Band
The Fall of Troy was formed by Thomas Erak (vocals and guitar), Andrew Forsman (drums) and Tim Ward (bass, vocals). They began working together as teenagers in Mukilteo, Washington in the early 2000s. The band members were still under 18 when they recorded their self-titled debut album. They worked on it during their school holidays under the guidance of producer Joel M. Brown. It was released in November 2003 on Lujo Records. In 2004, The Fall of Troy independently released the EP, Ghostship. Neither record was a big commercial success, but they gave the young musicians valuable experience. After releasing their third album, Manipulator, The Fall of Troy went on tour with Deftones and Coheed and Cambria in 2007. Around that time, Timothy Erak left the band due to stress and was replaced by Frank Ene. In 2008 they toured with Foxy Shezam, The Dear Hunter, and Tera Melos. They also released the EP, Phantom on the Horizon. In 2009 the band released their fourth album and went on tour to support it. In 2010 the group disbanded and the members worked on other projects. In December 2013 the founding members of The Fall of Troy reunited to play in Austin, Texas, and announced that they would record a new album which would be released for free.
Breakthrough
After submitting demos to the label Equal Vision, The Fall of Troy got a contract and recorded their second album Doppelgänger in 2005. They then began touring extensively to promote it. It included the single "F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X.," which was featured in video games including Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.
Hit Albums
In 2006 The Fall of Troy began working on their third album Manipulator. It was produced by Matt Bayles and features guest performances by Nouela Johnston of People Eating People. It was well received by critics from magazines like Kerrang! and Metal Hammer. In 2009, The Fall of Troy released their fourth album, In the Unlikely Event. This record was produced by Terry Date and included a guest appearance by Roddy Walker of Protest the Hero.
Show Experience
Though the band had been in the business for more than 10 years, they are still young and full of energy. Their music is loud full of intense riffs and aggressive screams. The Fall of Troy shows are the perfect night out for those who love to get crazy in a mosh pit. Expect to see them at casual venues like rock clubs, and be prepared for an intense experience. Don't expect a lot of pyrotechnics or dance routines though, this is punk rock, it's all about the music.
