One of the biggest British stars of the 1980s, this singer buoyed the New Romantic revolution as leader of platinum selling band Spandau Ballet. Known for stacking up a series of super hits including 'True', 'Gold' and 'Through the Barricades', the band dominated the charts with their unique brand of blue eyed soul. The iconic outfit are also famous for stimulating a revival of nightclub culture, with their signature style having a profuse influence on the fashions of the decade.
With his potent yet smooth Sinatra-esque vocals, the band's vocalist helped propelled the act to the top of the charts with his distinctive baritone, and 1983 album True became one of the biggest selling LPs of the decade. He released his debut solo record State of Play in 1992, before embarking on a full orchestral tour of Europe performing to over 500,000 fans over the course of six weeks. He also released an eponymous album in 1998, as well as his bestselling True Ballads record in 2003. After creating his own Slipstream Records label, he released a sensational jazz-swing album Passing Strangers in 2006, followed by a big band tour. In the 2000s, Hadley filled his time with acting roles in various high-profile British TV shows like Emmerdale as well as radio work - but music has always been his one true love.
