Y Not Festival 2018: The Libertines, Catfish and The Bottlemen and Jamiroquai top the bill

Held in Pikehall, Derbyshire every summer, Y Not Festival returns to Aston Hill Farm for its 13th year in 2018 with another stellar lineup. For three days this July, the likes of Catfish and The Bottlemen, The Libertines, Jamiroquai and Kaiser Chiefs will take to the stage in one of the most stunning parts of the UK landscape. 

As announced by the festival in February, other highlights will include legendary blues man Seasick Steve, Liverpool indie rockers Circa Waves, 1970s punk stars Buzzcocks, Manic Street Preachers and the most dangerous band in the world: Fat White Family. Y Not Festival: bringing the party to Derbyshire in 2018

Starting life at a disused quarry with an attendance of 120 in 2005, Y Not Festival was the brainchild of Ralph Broadbent who, after planning a party in the garden of his parents' house, was forced to relocate the gathering after his folks didn't go on holiday as planned. For the first year it went under the name of the Big Gin Festival (a play on its location near Biggin in the Peak District), before being renamed Y Not and the public being invited along the following year.

Since then, attendances have increased year on year (to 15,000 in 2015), with the event relocating to its current site at Pikehall, Derbyshire in 2007. Y Not welcomed the likes of Cage the Elephant, Frank Turner and Noah and the Whale in its first few years, with Snoop Dogg, Noel Gallagher, Primal Scream, Jake Bugg and dozens more global acts playing at its recent festivals. 

Speaking about Y Not 2018, festival organiser Simon Mawbey said: "We’re so happy to be back with our biggest line up to date. There are a lot of changes and improvements being made to make sure the festival is the best it’s ever been in 13 years and I’m excited that we can come back stronger than ever."
