You Me At Six: back with a new album in 2018

The tree-lined streets of the sleepy town of Weybridge were perhaps an unlikely place for the formation of one of the biggest names in English music. But so it began in 2004, when five teenagers started creating tunes initially inspired by Blink-182. First studio album Take Off Your Colours arrived four years later, peaking at number 25 on the UK album charts. It was also home to the much loved single "Save it for the Bedroom". After playing shows across the UK, the group embarked on a tour of America and gigged to the point of exhaustion, living off the return from their merch sales.

It was all worth it, though. Off the back of their live success, they found themselves supporting Paramore and 30 Seconds to Mars, and were twice nominated for Best British Band at the Kerrang! Awards before finally winning the title in 2011. Pretty soon they were in the studio with Grammy Award-winning producer Jacquire King, who has worked with the likes of Kings of Leon and Of Monsters and Men. King oversaw their transition from pop punk to the more mature, rock sound they're known for today. These days the band is on fire, performing in front of 90,000 fans at Wembley Stadium and releasing a slew of number one singles, including "Lived a Lie", "Fresh Start Fever" and "The Swarm", which provides the soundtrack for a rollercoaster of the same name at Thorpe Park.
